The four Gospels describe the events of the Resurrection Morning when Mary Magdalene and several other women (and most notably Mary the mother of James and Salome) had made a visit to the tomb, bringing spices to anoint the body of Christ. However they encountered the Angel of the Lord who had rolled the stone away and told the 2 women not to be alarmed, that Jesus had been crucified, yet had been resurrected.
The theme of my card for Easter represents the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed for the remission of sin, yet on the third day He was resurrected and became “The Light of The World”, bringing salvation to believers, even today. Romans 5:10-11, “For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!” “And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.”
The watercolor technique was done on watercolor paper using Color Burst powder by Ken Oliver Crafts and embossed by a lovely folder I picked up for $1.00 at the Memories Expo. The inside is a little fun I had with the February CTMH stamp of the month “Easter Bunny.” With the We R Memory Keepers Precision Stamp Press, it was a breeze to stamp these quickly, although I’ve got to say, I have a Misti in my sights…..
